Donation Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Donation Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern donations made to Muslim Welfare House Sheffield ("we", "us", or "our"). By making a donation, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

4. Pricing and VAT

Donations are voluntary contributions. There is no fixed price or VAT applicable to donations. You may choose any amount you wish to donate. Donations are not subject to VAT as they are charitable contributions.

5. Payment Processing

5.1 Online Payments

Online donations are processed securely through SumUp, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your payment card details. All payment information is encrypted and handled in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

By making an online donation, you agree to SumUp's terms and conditions and privacy policy.

5.2 Bank Transfers

Bank transfers are processed directly by your bank. Please ensure you include a reference (e.g., your name) so we can identify your donation. Processing times may vary depending on your bank.

6. Donation Confirmation

After making a donation, you will receive:

  • Online Payments: An email confirmation from SumUp (if you provide an email address)
  • Bank Transfers: A confirmation from your bank (as per your bank's standard process)

We recommend keeping a record of your donation for your records.

7. Use of Donations

All donations received will be used to support the charitable activities and operations of Muslim Welfare House Sheffield, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining and improving our facilities
  • Supporting community events and activities
  • Providing religious services and educational programmes
  • Supporting charitable initiatives

We are committed to using donations responsibly and in accordance with our charitable objectives.

8. Refund Policy

As donations are voluntary contributions to a charitable organisation, we generally do not provide refunds. However, we will consider refund requests in the following circumstances:

  • Administrative Error: If a donation was made in error due to a technical fault or administrative mistake
  • Unauthorised Transaction: If your payment card was used without your authorisation
  • Duplicate Payment: If you accidentally made the same donation twice

Refund requests must be made within 14 days of the donation date. To request a refund, please contact us at manager@mwhs.org.uk with details of your donation (date, amount, payment method).

9. 14-Day Cancellation Rights

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a donation made online within 14 days of making the donation, provided the donation has not been used for its intended charitable purpose.

To exercise your cancellation right, please contact us at manager@mwhs.org.uk within 14 days of your donation, providing your name, donation amount, date, and payment method.

Please note that if we have already used the donation for its intended charitable purpose, we may not be able to provide a refund.

10. Gift Aid (UK Taxpayers)

If you are a UK taxpayer, you may be eligible to make your donation under Gift Aid, which allows us to claim an additional 25% from the government at no extra cost to you.

To claim Gift Aid, you must:

  • Be a UK taxpayer
  • Have paid sufficient Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax to cover the Gift Aid claimed
  • Complete a Gift Aid declaration (if applicable)

We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 20 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Charity Commission for England and Wales or the Fundraising Regulator.

12. Data Protection

Your personal information will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will use your information to process your donation, send acknowledgements (if requested), and comply with legal obligations.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Muslim Welfare House Sheffield shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your donation, except where such liability cannot be excluded under English law.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued donations after changes are posted constitute acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
